Salt and Light News

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.  You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven”  Matt 5:13 - 16

Parental Partnering

On Saturday November 5th, 2005 we had our first parental partnering class.  As the Lord leads and reveals various gifts and talents, each parent is asked to share with the group.  This is a part of our goal to involve parents and provide them the an opportunity to deposit into their child’s ministry.  Sister Davis who works in the educational system and is a motivational and public speaker, shared with the young ladies about self esteem.  She exhorted them from the word to be proud of who God created them to be because we are created in the image of God.  When a person has “Godly self-esteem”, they will worship more freely.

In December 2005, we also had a tremendous cake decorating class taught by another parent Sister Lee.  She is a commercial baker and taught the girls basic cake decorating skills and they each decorated their own cakes very beautifully.

In March 2005, at the International Dance Conference we were blessed to have Elder Henry and Tamika Nwalipenja minister with us in the dance presentations.  We appreciate them sharing their talents and gifts in that area with the group and the body of Christ.
